If you're in Detroit this weekend, definitely stop by the We Have A Dream Exhibit, show some love to the fam members Ellen Rutt, Josh Hanford, and any other artists you think are dope!
Opening to the public Saturday, January 24th from 7-10pm, Inner State Gallery is proud to present "We Have A Dream" a group exhibition featuring more than 40 emerging Detroit artists, each paying homage to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous "I Have A Dream" speech.
"In celebration of Dr. King's legacy my goal was to curate a group exhibition that would shine a light on local artists and their dreams that are shaping the Detroit art scene," curator Roula David said.
The question was posed to some of Detroit's most creative minds: What is your dream world? Encouraging each artist not only to listen to Dr. King's words but to find their unique voice and develop their feelings that are evoked after hearing Dr. King's now famous speech.
This exhibition is free and open to the public. The welcoming artist reception will begin Saturday January 24th at 7pm and will end at 10pm. The exhibition will be on view in its entirety from January 24th - February 21st.
