This year was another fantastic weekend in Somerset, WI. At moments it might have been hot or rainy, but the energy and good vibes were undeniable. This year at SSMF the lineup seemed to stick to it's roots while also gunning for the masses. From the Weeknd to Deadmau5 and Billy Dangles and The Feck Yews... no stone was left unturned.

All Good Records was fortunate enough to host the official afterparties at SSMF for both Friday and Saturday nights. The love and support for the All Good family was evident all weekend. Whether at Griz or The Floozies massive late night sets to Manic Focus tearing up the Big Top stage Saturday afternoon.

We got to catch up with some of our fellow festival goers as well some friends who help make Summer Set as special as it is. Check out the interviews below and listen to some new GRiZ x Big Gigantic while you read :)

Welcome to Summer Set! Any initial thoughts on the festival?

I haven't been back here in 3 years... Seeing the expansion and how much it's grown, plus it being in my home state makes it so special.

What is the appeal to camping based festivals?

It's not so curated. People aren't afraid to let loose and people are in their most raw form and anything can happen!

In your opinion - what's the song of the summer?

That's a tough one but I think Meek Mill knows...

What's your drink of choice?

Moscow mule

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be and why?

Gucci mane.

I love this festival so much! We've actually played this fest every year and it feels great to be a part of the family here.

What is the appeal to camping based festivals?

I love that people are here for the whole weekend. They invested their time into having an amazing experience with their friends and to listen to music. It's incredible.

In your opinion - what's the song of the summer?

I Can't Feel my Face. The Weeknd

Drink of choice?

Margarita.

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be and why?

Herbie Hancock. He's my musical hero I have so many questions!

Welcome to Summer Set! Any initial thoughts on the festival?

Kamryn: It's great how everything is spaced out, you can walk from stage to stage and cool off/get fresh air.

Johhny: I love the vibes. Everyone is so friendly. There's different kinds of music for everyone, I've found so many new artists because I was just walking the grounds.

What is the appeal to camping based festivals?

J&K: The fact that even after the festival ends people at the campsites play music on their own sound systems. The party never ends. It's so much fun.

In your opinion - What's the song of the summer?

Johhny: Clapham by Pryda (Eric Prydz)

Kamryn: Roses by The Chainsmokers

What's your drink of choice?

J: Maker's Mark on the rocks

K: Peach Ciroc & pineapple juice

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be and why?

Johnny: Elon Musk. Easily one of the greatest scientific minds of our age, to sit down and pick his brain would be incredible.

Festival Pro Tip:

Karmyn: Invest in a Camelbak. Water will literally save your life, especially on weekends like these where it's 90+ degrees.

What is the appeal to camping based festivals?

I'd definitely say my favorite two things are the camping part and the festival part.

In your opinion - what's the song of the summer?

The song of every summer is Breezin by George benson

What's your drink of choice?

My brother Mark makes a really awesome tequila drink that involves grapefruit juice and jalapeño so I'll go with that.

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be and why?

Miles Davis. Uncompromising genius. I don't know if I would even talk at all. Just listen to him.

Festival Pro Tip:

Sombrero. Cheap, effective. Had the same one for six years and it's handy as fuhhhh!

Beautiful experience positive energy that's comfortable and contagious and the range of artists.

What do you like most about camping festivals?

Meeting strangers and become friends and kick it with people that we don't know and it's all love.

Excited to be back in the Midwest. The Midwest shows a lot of love to us every time we are here. It's nice to be at a festival where we have friends performing

What do you like most about camping festivals?

The gathering of friends that you wouldn't normally see all together enjoying themselves!

In your opinion - what's the song of the summer?

Summer '97 by Griz & Muzzy Bearr

Drink of choice?

Charlie: Vodka & Redbull

Kyle: Crown & Ginger

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Kyle: Bob Marley because we'd eat a lot of jerk chicken and feel the blessings of Jah!

Charlie: Jerry Garcia. Because. Why not.

Festival Pro Tip:

Gold bond. Gold bond is essential. If you want to make it to day 3 you need Gold Bond and baby wipes.

Don't forget to bring a towel!

Welcome to Summer Set! Any initial thoughts on the festival?

It’s one of the most diverse festival lineups I’ve ever worked with. There are 5 stages dedicated to almost every genre, so there is sure to be something that appeals to everyone. Personally, I discovered so many new bands and hip-hop acts that I may not have sought out on my own time.

What do you like about camping festivals?

Nothing! I’m a city girl at heart, so personally, I am not a fan of camping. However the my favorite part about this camping festival was eating some of the best tasting meats ever. Our production team cooked out every night after the festival, we had huge grills and an outdoor brick fire oven with some amazing pizzas, chicken, and steak.

In your opinion - what's the song of the summer?

There aren’t any songs that stick out yet from this summer, but one song I’ve had on repeat for a few weeks now is Action Bronson’s Baby Blue feat. Chance The Rapper (producer by Mark Ronson).

What's your drink of choice?

If I’m out, my go to is vodka and ginger ale, but if I’m at home or out to dinner, red wine is my everything.

Festival survival tip?

Depends on the festival, for camping festivals a bandana is essential, but for all other festivals I’d say comfortable shoes, external battery, hand sanitizer, and emergenC — which also makes a healthy mixer if you enjoy indulging in alcoholic beverages ;)

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be.

I’m 100% Italian so dinner is a huge deal in my family, we sit around the table for hours, talking and eating. Because of that, I never like eating dinner alone, so basically I would be happy to eat with anyone and everyone, dead or alive.
